How to play TapGuessr
Read the clue, then tap the spot on the globe where you think it happened.
A round in four steps
- Read the clue. Each one points to a single spot: an island, a landmark, a town or a sports venue.
- Turn the globe and tap. Drag to turn it, pinch or scroll to zoom. A single tap is your answer, so there's no submit button.
- See how close you were. The answer appears with the distance, your points and a fact about the place.
- Do all five, then share. Your result becomes a row of coloured tiles you can paste into any chat without giving away the answers.
Scoring
Points depend only on distance. The closer your tap, the more you score, and anything within 25 km counts as a bullseye. Clues get harder through the round and are worth more:

A perfect day is 1,000 points. Each tap gets a tile:

Questions and answers
How often is there a new round?
Every day at 00:00 UTC. Everyone in the world plays the same five clues that day, so scores can be compared.
How are points worked out?
Each tap scores up to 100 points depending on how far it lands from the answer. Anything within 25 km is a bullseye. Later clues count for more (×1, ×1, ×2, ×2, ×4), so a perfect day is 1,000 points.
What do hints cost?
Each clue has two hints. Showing one lowers that clue's maximum from 100 to 75; showing both lowers it to 50.
Can I play again?
Your first go each day is your official score, the one you share. After finishing, you can replay the same round as practice as often as you like. Practice never changes your score.
Do I need an account?
No. TapGuessr remembers your round in this browser, so you can close the page and carry on later.
Is it free?
Yes. The daily round is free to play.
